Letts Lake Campground
Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, the M10 Road will be closed for travel Monday-Fridays due to construction. The road will be open on weekends from Friday 4pm until Monday 6am. The M10 road is an active construction zone to repair a major slide, located above Fouts Springs near Dixie Glade. Depending on construction progress, there can be periods where the road is impassable, closed for construction, has traffic control stops, or is passable in high clearance vehicles. Main impacts to access are to the Letts Lake basin on Grindstone Ranger District and to trailheads into Snow Mountain Wilderness. A 4WD high clearance vehicle is recommended (No Trailers) due to the narrow unstable area of the slide. The road can become impassable during or after storms with deep mud, rocks or other hazards. If the road becomes impassable, the detour to get around the slide via the M5 and 17N02 Roads (high clearance vehicle recommended).
The main feature of the area is a 35-acre lake for non-motorized vessels, trout fishing and swimming. A one-mile trail leads along the lake shore. There are accessible restrooms and a popular fully-accessible fishing pier.
