Directions
From Fairview, Utah, travel north about a mile on Highway 89, to the junction with Highway 31. Travel east on Highway 31 for about nine miles, to the junction with Forest Development Road 124. Go north on Forest Development Raod 124 for three miles, to the campground.

This was a peaceful camping experience. Although it rained which is just mother nature. I did read there was no trash service which I understand however it was very inconvenient to drive with our 4 days worth of trash the 3 hours back home. And once again no campfires which is again just mother nature but we would have been able to at least burn our paper trash. It was a trip I will always remember. Beautiful surroundings. Large parking spots. And stocked vault toilets. Plenty of bank fishing spots. Wish the river was more accessible. Overall a 8 out of 10. We will be back soon.

Nice to have a gravel pad for pitching the tent under muddy conditions, but the gravel fire pit could have been better. Had to dig out the center in order to build a fire.

The camping area is not fenced off from the sheep herds.. The smell of sheep manure is prevalent. The sheep invade the campsites for 2 to 3 hours in the morning and the same before sunset!!! There is no reason the lease agent for the sheep could not place a fence on the camp side of the creek so that the sheep can water and stay away from the campsites.
Worse than the sheep, is all of the non campsite traffic that drives through all day. The dust was unbearable, the racing of side by sides, and motor cycles at 30+ miles per hour, going around and around the campsite access road was inexcusable. The FS should be ashamed of such a mess. The Gov. charges enough money, that the camping at the lake should have a camp host and write citations for all of the mayhem that has crept into the area. IF YOUR ANSWER IS: BUDGETS HAVE BEEN CUT, THEN CHARGE MORE!!!!
I am a 70 year old native of the area and I am ashamed to see what the gov. has let the area become.

Gooseberry is Andy’s favorite camping spot. We had to leave early because of tire problems so we didn’t get to stay. Hopefully, we can try again. Thank you.
