Lower Twin Lakes At Bridgeport
Overview
Lower Twin Lakes Campground is located just 10 miles from Bridgeport, California. The Twin Lakes area is close by, offering boating, fishing, hiking and horseback riding opportunities.Recreation
Robinson Creek offers good rainbow trout fishing and can be easily accessed from within the campground. Numerous hiking trails are in the vicinity, including the popular Robinson Creek Trail.Facilities
The campground contains several single-family sites with picnic tables, food storage lockers and fire rings with grills. Flush toilets, drinking water and trash collection are provided. Firewood is available for purchase from the host. Roads and parking spurs are paved.Robinson Creek South Campground is nearby, where educational programs are held at its amphitheater on weekends from July 4 through Labor Day.
Natural Features
The campground is situated next to Robinson Creek, just below Lower Twin Lake, at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Massive Jeffrey pines tower over the site, offering partial shade. Aspens, sagebrush and summer wildflowers dot the landscape.Nearby Attractions
Upper and Lower Twin Lakes are within walking distance, offering beautiful mountain scenery, boating, canoeing and fishing for Kokanee salmon and rainbow and brown trout. A public boat ramp and beach are half-mile from the campground.The rugged and scenic Hoover Wilderness Area can be accessed from the Twin Lakes area and offers additional trails for hiking and horseback riding.
Charges & Cancellations
Reservation sites will be held until check out time (12 pm) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the Campground Manager will be able to modify your reservation.

Fees
Camping fees include one vehicle. Extra vehicle fee of $6 per vehicle per
night is due at kiosk in campground upon arrival.
Directions
From Bridgeport, California, take Highway 395 and turn south at Twin Lakes
Road and travel 9.6 miles. Turn left onto South Twin Road and travel
approximately 0.6 miles across the bridge to the campground.
Stay Limit
Check in from 2 PM, check out by 12 PM.

Lower Twin Lakes campground is nestled along Robinson Creek. It is beautiful and peaceful, and within walking distance of Lower Twin Lake. It is a great location for family reunions, if you are lucky enough to score more than one campsite.

Beautiful sites along Robinson Creek. Short walk to Lower Twin Lake, which is perfect for kayaking, swimming and launching a small inflatable boat.

Great spot being near the creek and lake. Kids caught fish. Camp host was friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great experience.

Great location near the lake, and our campsite was right on the river. Beautiful area and clean campsite. No running water in the restrooms, but that is ok. We enjoyed our one-night stay as we prepared for a backpacking trip near by.

Twin Lakes campsite was easy to find and easy to park our small trailer - our campsite was right next to a river and several yards from our neighboring campers. The stroll along the river to the stunning lake with Mountaineous backdrop was easy and accessible from our site. We loved it and i wish we could have stayed longer than one night!

These campsites with prime locations should only be allowed for customers who are willing to stay 7 days or more. In 30 years I've been coming to these locations there are some people who only stay for a day or two. This screws it up for people who want to stay 7 to 14 days.

Lovely campground though the sites are a bit close together. Not a problem if you have an average amount of camping equipment but if you are the kind of camper that travels with an RV, multiple pop ups, multiple coolers, etc., you may find yourself spilling over into your neighbor's camp. One of two women's bathrooms was locked for at least half a day and overnight and the other one was spilling over with garbage, so more rigorous cleaning and wastebaskets in the men's bathroom since the ladies may need to use them. Also, some sort of bear education from the hosts seems really necessary a la Yosemite. I didn't see bears when I was there but there's no way there won't be a problem at this campground as the summer progresses. Many camps left scented items and food unattended even when no one was present at camp.

Beautiful, clean campground! The creek is close to campsites and most sites are shady. We found the camp host to be very attentive and helpful. We hiked to Horsetail Falls and swam in the lake.

We found a cancellation at Lower Twin Lakes walk at site #13. This site was amazing. It was not what I would call a walk in site because our vehicle was right there. Tent only. We were right on the creek. Hubby was content fly fishing in front of site and around. Nice long naps next to creek in gravity chairs. Definitely will look for this spot again. Creek a bit loud but you get use to it. Soothing. Camp hosts were the best!

I love this place and lower twin lakes campground. Terrie is an excellent host, this is the third year I have stayed while she has managed it. It was extremely clean, and it is just an incredibly beautiful location.

We always have a wonderful time at Lower Twin Lakes. The camp host Terrie is AWESOME!! We have become good friends with her, and she keeps an immaculate camp, super clean! The camp has the best of both worlds having the creek and the lake. We have been going every year with family, and will continue as long as we get a reservation.

The area is gorgeous.
Camping here is okay, camp side 5 is more of an RV site than it is a tent side. It has a tent platform and you can hear the river from the site, that’s great. We had some flooding of the full creek close to the campsite and with that, some mosquitoes, but it was manageable.
What was disappointing is that the water flushed toilets aren’t exactly what you’d expect. It’s a vault toilet that has a water element. No sink, no soap. It’s better than vault toilets, less smelly, but still not what you’d expect under the advertisement.
There are no showers on the campground. The host was pretty grumpy, did seem bothered by our very limited questions. So do your research on your own before you get there.
We had limited cellphone coverage with T-Mobile. No data, but text.

We truly enjoyed Lower Twin Lakes campground. Our site was very clean thanks to Bill the camp host who provided lots of information on things to do and see while visiting the beautiful surrounding Brigdeport area. Fishing the creek is a must for all and of course the two Twin Lakes as well. These campsites are all on the creek and in a wooded/shaded forest. All sites have fire pits and bear proof food lockers.

One of the nicest, cleanest, best managed forest campgrounds we have been able to use. It should be used as a model when upgrading or refurbishing run down and tired campgrounds.

Site 5 was part shade and sun. Nice flat area for one tent. Near bathrooms and trash but no issue. Flush toilets but no sinks. Water is spigot only. Site and bathrooms were clean and fairly quiet.

I believe the campground host is Terry. she was such a big help. She had the bathrooms cleaned and checked on her campers to make sure everything that was going good. The campsite was very clean when we arrived. We had a wonderful stay. Terry is always available when you need her

The absolute best campground I’ve been to this year. The bathrooms were immaculate and the camp host Terri was the hostess with mostest! We will back for sure!
