Robinson Creek South Campground is nearby, where educational programs are held at its amphitheater on weekends from July 4 through Labor Day.

Natural Features

The campground is divided into two loops on either side of Twin Lakes Road. The west loop is partially shaded by Jeffrey and lodgepole pines.

Nice smaller campground. Easy in and out a pretty quiet. Having a tent pad makes is easy to set up on a level spot. Site 8 has nice shade in the morning. Minimal shade in the afternoon. Close enough to the vault toilet to be convenient but far enough to not be noticeable while at your site.

No place for kids to play in the river. We were told river access is for fishing only. So we left and stayed at Robinson Creek and couldn't be happier !!! Sadly, we probably won't be coming back to Honeymoon Flats. We had a great 3 years in a row there.

Early season so it was not busy at all. Weather was perfect. Was told by the camp host there is an aggressive bear in the area who broke into a cabin and may have attacked a dog. Did not see any bear or have any issues.

Honeymoon Flat South is a small campground that's positioned along Robinson Creek, and several sites (including 010) are right next to the creek, so there's good fishing without having to leave the campground. The friendly host keeps everything clean and orderly. Site 010 is great, except that it gets 100% sun all day (in mid-July that means 7am - 7pm) so come prepared with some shade equipment. It's best as a tent site, although a van-type RV would work. A store, laundromat, and showers are close by.

Site #11 is a "double". we arrived with two 30 ft rv's with two cars, and it was quite challenging to get them all in and made for a very cozy camping trip! only room for one awning to be out to cover the "walkway" between the rigs. Anyways, really a nice spot for maybe 1 rv and and tenters(two really nice tent pads). just a FYI as the photos are deceiving as to the size.

We've stayed and Robinson Creek and Lower Twin - both nearby - multiple times. We stayed in site 4 on the shady side of the road and it was a very different atmosphere: peaceful with tents and small rigs. I would return here again. Camp Host Dan keeps everything spotless and quiet.

A wonderful and clean site. We stayed at the lower site which was adjacent to Robinson Creek. The double sites were well set up for group gatherings. We are a scout troop and sites 7 and 11 worked well for a base camp we used during the week as we backpacked out of Robinson Creek. Tent pads were very nicely maintained and bathrooms and water spigots were accessible and clean. The lower site seemed to have more shade than the upper site which gave relief during warm days.

This camp site is really nice. Twin Lakes is within a few miles and you can find numerous trails to hike and ride. There is a cool creek that runs next to the campground and you might see deer in the meadow. However, it was across from the camp host who hosted some loud friends one night and morning and whose never-ending campfire smoked out our campsite in the afternoon, evening, and morning.

We stayed one night on a Thursday and the campground was very quiet (can't vouch for weekends). We had site 2, which was only okay (small, pull-through, near the road), but fine for one night. Would recommend one of the other sites nearer the creek. We had a van, but there were nicely leveled and surfaced tent pads. Views of the mountains are gorgeous. There are two parts to the campground, on opposite sides of the road, and the reservation info versus the campground nomenclature was a bit confusing (Upper and Lower Honeymoon Flats, vs North and South...) North/Upper side of the campground seemed to have more shade and nicer sites. The campground is convenient to Bridgeport, and be sure to take a drive out to Twin Lakes!

We have enjoyed camping at Honeymoon Flat (lower campground) twice this year. Our Camp Host, (I believe it's Dan), keeps the pit toilets extremely clean and smelling nice. For obvious reasons this is not an easy thing to do but he does it very well! We highly recommend this campground. Our site was right next to Robinson Creek and we caught some very nice trout.

11 of us stayed at Lower honeymoon flat site#5 which is a group campground. Reservations were for August 17th-21, sadly we had to evacuate the 19th due to the Hillary hurricane that came. I would like to receive a refund for the days that we did not stay. But is pending. Besides this Campground was beautiful. Can see deers and shooting stars at night. Has a river stream that runs right on the side and clear water. Can vary from knees to 5ft deep. There is a TON of MOSQUITOES so bring repellent and Cantonilla candles. Weather was drizzling, hot, cold at night and fresh. The host Dan informed us of the weather, camp rules and so far no bears. And would like to keep it that way so put food away. Also a Dumpster and water spot by restrooms. Spot can be used for washing and showering so bring a bucket. Not for drinking. Vault Toilets. Which your waste falls in the hole but has a toilet seat and paper and are well maintained and cleaned by host. Have any other questions ask Dan. Information about site#5. Big Isolated from other Camp sites. Location far from sites 6,7 and host. Clean and well maintained. Include 1circle firepit, 1grill, 2picnic table for 6people each, 2bearbox with measurements I'm guessing are length4ft, width2ft, and height3ft. We were able to fit 2medium size Ice chest with grocery bags around in one and other a big ice chest with a medium size ice chest with 2water buckets inside. Has 2tentpad that are side by side a 12 , 5, and 2 person tent fit. About 4 big rocks are randomly on floor and have grass growing over them. 2 Driveway are provided and can fit 2 others cars. A Truck, Springer van, and Sequoia fit. At the tentpad trees give shade. Brings Canopy and fire wood. Activities drive to MammothLake is a hour away not far for me. Highly recommend Twin Lakes Monovillage. Which is on the right hand side coming out of the campground. To fish, swim, ride boats, Kayak, or paddle board. Need a fishing license. Need to shower or buy ice. Village provides.

The camp ground was amazing. We had a great week. Beautiful surroundings, very clean, perfect weather and can’t say enough about Dan the camp host, he’s the most gracious, kind person. We had trouble with our generator and he not only spent his time trying to help us fix it but he let us borrow his to charge our rv up. We even decided to stay another night!
