Very pretty with campsites, separated nicely

Great spot to hike with some nice hiking trails. Be aware that no campsites have any shade and there is no water available at the campground, so don't forget appropriate shade and water supplies.

Just really crowded with Utahns — who well act like Utahns… and no privacy. You are so close to the Utahans you can hear them snore. They are used to it … but if you’re from Nevada … beware. Packed… just like driving through Slc or being in line at lagoon… or visiting any state campground in the state.

The facilities were clean and they now have a dumpster for campers to dispose of. :) Was disappointed on the 4th of July when some people decided to let off fireworks in the parking lot! That was our main reason for being there that weekend to avoid the booms with our dogs. The camp host acted like he didn’t know the fire restrictions for our State and on Stage 1 of NO outside fires, NO fireworks!!! He gave a very I don’t care attitude :( If you are a camp host you should be on top of these things and ensure the signs are posted and know who to contact in the event of an incident happening. Thankfully myself and others stood up to the not so smart people letting off fireworks and stopped them from doing more and trapping us on a mountain due to a fire!!! One way in and out once your are at the lake. Other than this one incident we had an amazing time hiking, paddle boarding, fishing and swimming. The views are amazing and the wildflowers are Beautiful! We have been coming for 10yrs. And will continue too. Our group of 20 had a wonderful time and rented 3spots. Did I mention the clear skies for stargazing and the milky way😁

Great campsite for tent camping Beautiful location and swimming in the lake was refreshing Only some day visitors who were fishing had constantly loud music which was really disturbing Not all campsites have a level parking space which is difficult if you have a roof top tent like we have But our site 15 was perfect for us

One of the more car accessible higher altitude lakes in the Great Basin. Peaceful beautiful spot well- maintained (except for the cows the camp host was cleaning up after). Lots of fishing going on

This is such a beautiful spot. I wanted to stay for a few days to enjoy a piece, quiet, scenery and take a hike. The site I reserved is great but a neighbor never stopped talking and loudly. Also cows were roaming not just near by and next to the lake but inside the campground leaving their plops on the paths. Bathrooms were very clean.

We come this time every year and have always enjoyed our stay. Only real issue is that last year, and again this year, there are cows wandering around the property. This really sets the dogs off and the cows totally make a mess. All the years before we never had cows among the campers. other than that, all was good.

Quiet serene lake. Beautiful arc of NV mountains.

One night stay hit easy to park. Clean and quite even with all other spaces full.

An absolutely stunning view. I wished I brought a fishing pole. Simple campground, with a climbing road to get to it. Our site was great.

The water system doesn’t work it hasn’t worked in 5 years Forest doesn’t care The rest rooms have not pumped in a year no dumpster for garbage they have fire pits but no water to put out your fire

Gorgeous! Well spaced campsites

The camp host was extremely rude and unprofessional. I don’t think going around yelling at the campers makes for a good experience. Or screaming at the top of her lungs through the entire camp site the quiet hours, when it was an hour away from quiet time.

We have been traveling most all summer and needed a cooler place for a couple of weeks. We chose Angel Lake Campground in Nevada. It’s over 7000 feet and it has a wonderful small lake. Several of the sites are first come first serve and most are fairly level. Most days there are boards and kayaks on the lake, along with fisherman. The bathrooms were well maintained by Deborah, the campground host. She did a fantastic job. The only downfall to this campground it is at the top of a pretty high mountain road that has no guard rails. Seriously take it slow up and down.

Angel Lake is a great little campground. Sunrise is gorgeous and a quick dip in the lake is so refreshing! There is no shade unless you bring it, and the desert sun is hot. The driveways, table and tent pads are paved or tightly packed base rock that is too hard to use beach umbrellas. There are no trees to tie a tarp to, only hip to chest-high shrubs.

The drive up to the campground is not for the faint hearted, but I made it up in my little Chevy Malibu. The road has switchbacks, steep grades, and no guard rails. However, it all pays off when you get to the campground. The views of the waterfall, Angel Lake, and the surrounding mountains are spectacular. Take time for a hike up to the waterfall and a dip in the lake. The bathrooms were clean. The camp host was friendly and helpful. My site had a flat gravel area perfect for a tent. My only suggestion is to find ways to make your own shade and reduce the daytime heat. If you're tent camping, leave your rain fly off during the day or swarms of insects will find it a lovely place to gather. Be sure to wake up early to catch the sunrise!

Such a magical little lake! It was a pleasant stopover on our way through northern Nevada.

There was no camp hose at all. So I would say that varies when camp host is there. There was someone cleaning the restrooms so those were very clean! We had reserved our site months ago, when we pulled up, there was someone who parked their vehicle in our spot (as well as their friends in someone elses spot). Inconvenient and kind of rude, because there were several FCFS spots available or they could have used the day use area. Other than that, quiet but windy at times. Bring shade since there are mini quaking aspens.

If you like noise, you will love this place! There is the highway right next door, there are groups of people (20+) at single sights celebrating parties AND, best of all, there are freight trains running pretty much right through camp in the middle of the night. You will for sure wake up a dozen times...

Gorgeous scenery with a beautiful lake. Water was off and it was pack in- pack out, but the view made up for it. Sites are small.

Brrr, was it cold! Our fault, for not realizing the campground would still be partially snowed-in, with temperatures down to freezing, at the end of June. Waking up with an absolutely stunning view of the snowy mountains and beautiful little Angel Lake just steps from the campsite made such minor inconveniences like the cold seem trivial, though. A hidden gem off the beaten path!

Beautiful campground, secluded, and off the beaten path. Listing was for a 30’ camp spot, however our 25’ trailer barely fit and the ring road was very narrow making it difficult to park. It was all worth the views though, highly recommended

One of the most amazing campsites I have been to. We kept saying how well kept, clean, and beautiful it is. A must stop if you're taking the 80. We had one night, did some fishing, and the view of the lake in the morning is amazing.

Great Campground. Only a couple of spaces for vehicles and trailer combinations over 25 ft in length. a couple of nice hikes from or very close to the campground. Drinking Water was available.

Angel Lake is a pretty site, with a glacial cirque background illuminated by the morning sun. The access road is steep and has many sharp turns. It's probably not suitable for 5th-wheel or similarly large rigs. It wasn't difficult for our SUV pulling a 16-foot trailer. There aren't tall trees for shade, but smaller trees make the campsites relatively private. The only drawback was lack of water.

Beautiful location with well maintained campsites. The pristine lake is easily accessed for a cool dip in the water. Although our campsite was conveniently located near the water pump and toilets, it was private and our only views were of the mountains around us. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

It’s a beautiful lake and the view is fantastic. It’s not an easy way to get there. We have a 17 ft trailer we pulled and it’s gnarly drive going up and going down. It’s a hidden treasure but it’s been discovered by everyone. There’s a lot of people from all over. We were lucky to stayed a couple nights to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Staying at Angel Lake is always a treat on my drive through Nevada. It was beautiful, as always!

Cows in the campground, cow poop in the campground and on the trails and lots of flies in the bathroom. How is it possible that such a beautiful, once pristine lake and campground have free range cows throughout? Wow - that was a shock I was not ready for. We hiked into the East Humboldt Wilderness - same thing - cows and cow dung throughout the area.

I've camped at Angel Lake several times, and it is always a relaxing stay. The sunset over the mountains and the lake is beautiful and the mornings are quiet and peaceful. I usually camp here on my travels through Wells, so haven't spent much time enjoying the lake or the surrounding trails. Some day!

We camp at Angel Lake every year and always enjoy it. Facilities are very clean and organized. We do have to pack in water, as water quality there has not been good the last couple of years, and everything else is great.

Fabulous campground. The camp host was top notch. The views, the hikes, the star gazing, the quiet campground, the clean toilets were all things to write home about. And I did!

great location, would be nice if they would resume garbage collection.....mountain goats, antelope, deer and Elk all easily viewed close to campground, host Lance a nice guy, easy to work with...lots of families with young children, thats a good or bad thing depending on your perspective

Reserved Camp site was giving to someone else. Lucky there was a FF still available. No fire wood to buy lucky camp host was nice and gave us some of his personal stuff. No shade so very hot for tents make sure to bring your own shade.

Beautiful, small campground. The sites are a very short walk to the lake wiht beautiful sunset and sunrise viewing. The bathrooms were very clean. We didn't see any garbage facilities, so we packed in/out. Wished we could have stayed longer.

An amazing location! Very peaceful, and each campsite is fairly private. Gorgeous swimming in the lake, and only an hour hike to another, even more secluded lake.

Of the 5 campgrounds I stayed at during my road trip, this was by far the favorite. Perfect little oasis high in the desert. And the best smelling pit toilets (and cleanest) I've ever experience. Note the directions on the site as google maps tried to get me to go on very rough roads through fields. Luckily someone was kind enough to put a sign up about a closed gate and to go to the next highway exit. Then the road was great, winding with tight curves though (and not maintained in winter), so maybe not good for large campers/RVs.

Angel Lake was such a surprise find! Gorgeous location high on a mountain, which we did not expect for Nevada. The campground is beautiful, well maintained, and we had a great site.

Angel Lake was beautiful and the nearby hike was also beautiful. The campsite was clean and well maintained. Just know that the road that leads up to the campsite is steep and curvy. It does not have a shoulder or guard rail. It was a little uncomfortable to look over the side of the road and see how far the fall would be if you took a turn to fast or lost control. That being said, the road is paved and well maintained during the summer (when I went).

Very nice, well-maintained campground in a gorgeous setting beneath the peaks surrounding the lake. The roads and sites and toilets are all in excellent shape and clean, and the entire campground is excellent. Just as a point of personal preference, the sites are a little close together for my taste, with no trees for visual separation from your neighbors. Privacy aside, this is a great little campground and the hosts are to be commended for keeping it in great shape.
