Osage Bluff

Overview

Osage Bluff Park sits on the shores of Harry S. Truman Lake in the hills of western Missouri.

Visitors enjoy fishing, hunting, swimming and boating.

Click here for the Harry S. Truman Lake virtual tour.

Recreation

Osage Bluff is an excellent fishing location. Truman Lake is also a popular destination for tournament fishermen.

Osage Bluff Marina is located next to the park, offering convenient boat services for guests.

Facilities

This campground offers 25 sites with 50-amp and water, 7 sites with 50-amp, 24 sites with 30-amp, and 4 primitive sites. Amenities include flush and pit toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, dump station, playground, marina and boat ramp.

Natural Features

Harry S Truman Reservoir lies among the rolling hills and rocky bluffs of the Ozark Plateau. Mature hardwoods of Oak and Hickory with cedar trees mixed in cover the area.

Wildlife such as whitetail deer, turkey, hawks, ospreys, eagles, and many different water birds can be found in and around the park.

An abundance of fish such as crappie, bass, walleye, paddlefish, blue and channel catfish can also be found in Harry S Truman Reservoir. Approximately 8,800 acres of standing timber were left in the lake to provide quality aquatic habitat.

Nearby Attractions

The 950 miles of shoreline around Truman Lake provide plentiful opportunities for fun in the outdoors. Many parks surround the lake, including Harry S. Truman State Park.

The Harry S. Truman Visitor Center sits atop Kaysinger Bluff and provides a spectacular view of the dam and reservoir. Exhibits provide information about the rich history of the Osage River Valley from pre-civilization to modern day. Waterfowl, bald eagles and turkey vultures are commonly seen from the observation deck.

Site was very flat and mostly off to itself. However the site is not shaded and lacks phone reception. This site does offer front views of the lake and easy access down to the lake.

Spot was level and very close to the shower house and playground. It has a nice view of the lake as well. This campsite is pretty sunny but does have spots throughout the day that you can move around in the shade.

Wonderful wooded campsite with nice level gravel ground. We stayed in site 1 but it felt very secluded and was lovely. The rest of the campground had some great site right on the water. We just stayed one night but would definitely go back.

The campsite we had could have been better landscaped with pea gravel, it had 2inch and was a bit rough. All together it was a clean site not crowed close to next campers. The bath shower house was clean with hot water. On our stay was not to bad with other peoples dogs barking. Host were friendly and keep things clean and orderly, well stocked.

The drinking water was brown/orange. Even after letting it run it was horrible and probably not safe to drink. We bring in our own water. BAD BAD

The fire pit on site 37 was located in the corner. You could not sit around it. It needs to be moved 6 ft away from corner. We had friends come down and we couldn't all sit around it. Please move.

The campsite was level and easy to back into. There was no shade on this side but was great for our panels. There was 30 amp and water on site. The site is on a peninsula that catches a lot of wind.

Love camping at Osage Bluff. A well taken care of campground. A couple things that could be upgraded are adding an extra RV service site. Also on site 30 there is a cedar tree that impedes directly at the rear of the campsite. I think it would be best to remove it. Thanks yall.
