Lovely secluded campsite location - was interesting hiking back down surrounded by morning joggers! The only downside was the portakabin toilet so would recommend using the toilets in the trailhead carpark before hiking up.

It was a beautiful site. Great to have a big bear box for our food. Great for beginner backpackers

Great campsite in a lovely stand of trees perched up in the hills of the headlands. Easy access from Rodeo Valley. Basic amenities, no water, porta-potty onsite.

A beautiful, small campground (only three sites perched on the side of a hill). Be aware of two things:
1) the final approach is a REALLY steep couple of hundred yards. Probably not too bad just hiking. But if you are bikepacking, you will not be able to ride and even pushing is challenging.
2) If approaching from the SF side, get water at the bridge vista point. That is the last source I know of on the route. I don't know about coming from the Tennessee Valley entrance.

The 2.5 mile hike was a up down and up style walk and trail is designed and heavily traveled by bikes. But once in camp, we had a beautiful view of the city until dark. A wonderful star show after dark,-since it was a rare clear night.
The site was clean, the facilities had been recently cared for and a varmint container is in each camp. Very nice for a dry camp site.
