Campground: Olallie Lake
The Adams Fork Bridge on Forest Road 5601 at MP 2.0 on the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District is CLOSED. The bridge is beyond its service life, was damaged in flooding in 2015, and has suffered ongoing scouring of the foundation since that time. Recent inspections have shown that the bridge can only support its own weight. For public safety, the bridge has been closed pending repairs, effective immediately. The bridge is closed to all traffic.
Forest Road 5601 provides access to the Ollalie Lake/Takhlakh Lake area and developed sites and trailheads along Forest Road 2329. Alternative and more convenient access to those areas from the north is available via Forest Road 23 directly to Forest Road 2329 (south end) and via Forest Roads 23/21/56/5603 to Forest Road 2329 (middle).
This campground, on the shores of Ollalie Lake, offers 5 small sites and one larger area with room for RVs. The sites offer scenic views of Mt. Adams from the lake. It’s located in a high elevation stand of lodgepole and subalpine pine. Mosquitos can be numerous in the early season.
Some parking spurs are at a right angle, so backing may be challenging.
Nearby High Lakes Trail #116 and East Canyon Trail #265 are open to motorcycle use.
