## Overview

Anna Creek Cabin is located 30 miles south of the town of Hungry Horse,
perched above Hungry Horse Reservoir with sweeping views of the reservoir and
the Great Bear Wilderness. **Winter - Access road not maintained/plowed for
wheeled-vehicle travel. Plan on winter access via a 24-mile snowmobile ride or
other over-the-snow vehicle on an ungroomed route**. The cabin provides a
private setting to enjoy the recreation opportunities along the west side of
Hungry Horse Reservoir.

## Recreation

**Summer** \- The cabin location provides a base to explore the numerous
recreation opportunities along the west side of Hungry Horse Reservoir.
Visitors can access the water within a short drive to Graves Bay, Graves Creek
or Handkerchief Lake for fishing, swimming or boating. Access to hiking trails
along pioneer ridge or the east side of Jewel Basin are in close proximity to
the cabin. Other popular activities such as driving for pleasure, berry
picking, wildlife watching, and fishing are abundant in the area around the
cabin.

**Winter** \- The cabin provides a base for ample winter reacreation
oppurtunities in the Swan Mountain Range. Please familarize yourself with the
free winter over-the-snow maps available online, at the Hungry Horse Ranger
Station, and at the cabin.

## Facilities

This single story cabin is equipped with a propane cook stove/oven, 2 propane
heaters, propane lights and accessible vault toilet. Indoor accommodations
sleep up to 12 people on one double bed, two twin beds, two double/twin bunk
beds, plus two twin roll out trundle beds. Outside, enjoy the campfire pit
with barbecue grate and the deck on the south side of the cabin.  
  
  
  
No drinking water or electricity are available. Guests should bring plenty of
water, bedding, food, flashlights, basic camping gear, tools to gather outdoor
firewood, among other necessities.

There is not a wood stove available at the cabin.

The cabin is set up above the West Side Hungry Horse Reservoir road providing
privacy and scenic views. The west side of the cabin and large parking area
backs up to the forest with Anna creek flowing through. The east side of the
cabin offers open views of the Great Bear Wilderness. The site offers a nice

accessible from within the campground. Swimming and fishing are also popular
pastimes, and anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish, including
cutthroat trout.

The campground offers 20 overnight sites for tent and RV camping. Each is
equipped with tables and campfire rings with grills. Accessible vault toilets
and drinking water are provided. The water is 2 hand pumps and are not for
filling RV's so please come full.  
Campground roads and parking spurs are gravel. An on-site host is available to
answer any questions about the campground and surrounding area.

per night and the whole space is yours. You can fit 2 campers on sites 1 and 3
and a single unit on site 2 allowing for up to 40 people. No extra vehicle

RIVERSIDE CAMPGROUND (MT)

## Overview

This recreation area is located near the village of Swan Lake at the north end
of the scenic Swan Valley in northwest Montana. The campground consists of two
loops. Ponderosa Loop offers open, large sites with plenty of space, while
sites at Birch Loop are shaded and more clustered together. There is also a
reservable group site which accomodates up to 100 people. Here, we have 38
rentable sites. 24 sites are reservable and 14 sites are for our walk-up
visitors. The stay limit is 16 consecutive days.

## Recreation

Campers and day-use visitors have access to a boat ramp and a beach. Both
power and non-motorized boating is permitted.  
This campground also offers Kayak, Paddleboard and Canoe rentals and firewood
for sale.  
Anglers can fish for several kinds of trout as well as Kokanee salmon and
Northern Pike. Bike lanes wind throughout the campground.

## Facilities

The campground has 38 family-sized campsites and large group site with paved
parking areas, fire rings and picnic tables. Drinking water and vault toilets
are available. There is no dump station at this campground but there is a fill
station as you enter the park on the right just passed the Pay Kiosk.  
  
Some sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to
move your reservation to a first-come, first serve (walk in) site upon
arrival, you will have to pay for the new spot as you held a reservable spot
that fellow campers were not able to book online.

of the Swan Mountain Range.

Glacier National Park is within an hour drive. About a mile from the
campground is the Swan River National Wildlife Refuge, with a wildlife and

Individual Site Reservations: $22.00 **per camper unit per night**. Camping
unit is tent, trailer, motorhome, mobile sleeping unit, etc. **If you have an
additional camping unit in your spot, please be ready to pay the addtional $22
per nite (cash of check only) to the host or in the fee tube.**

Guests must arrive and check in with the campground host by 11 a.m. the day
following your arrival or risk forfeiture of fees and the site may be given to
another camper.  
You are allowed two motorized vehicles per site, the first vehicle is included
in the site fee and an extra vehicle charge of $5.00/day per vehicle will be
collected upon arrival at the campground.  
  
Group Site Reservation (G1):  
1 - 25 people - $200/night  
26 - 50 people - $250/night  
51 - 75 people - $300/night  
76 - 100 people - $350/night  
There is no extra vehicle charge in the group site.

Starting in 2025, there will be a **$100/night non-refundable down payment fee
to reserve the group site**. The remaining balance will be due 30 days prior
to arrival.

and six miles west of Marias Pass, a high mountain pass located in Glacier
National Park. This location has 13 campsites, 7 which are reservable and 6

Traveling to the campground on Highway 2 offers stunning scenery and
opportunities for wildlife viewing. Devil Creek Trail #167 provides access to

The campground offers 13 overnight sights for tent and RV camping. Each
campsite is equipped with a table and campfire ring with grill. Accessible
vault toilets and drinking water are provided. Water is not a fill station.
There are 4 water spigots throughout the campground for filling jugs. Please

In addition to wildlife viewing, hiking and mountain biking trail access is
nearby at Bond Creek Trailhead. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are
popular activities enjoyed by visitors during the winter.

opportunities for fishing, motor boating, non-motor boating, swimming and
picnicking.

Rocky Mountains, west of the Continental Divide and just south of the Canadian
border. Spectacular views and ample opportunities for recreation surround the
campground, keeping visitors coming back to the area again and again. Here, we
have 22 rentable sites with 13 of them being reservable and 9 for our walk-up
visitors. The stay limit is 16 consecutive nights.

## Recreation

Visitors to the area enjoy a variety of biking and hiking trails that begin
near the campground and wind around the reservoir.  
  
Boating, swimming and fishing are excellent pastimes on the 27,750-acre Hungry
Horse Reservoir. Anglers can expect a catch of cutthroat trout and other
varieties.

The campground offers 22 campsites, several of which are first-come, fist-
served sites for tent and RV camping. Each site is equipped with tables and
campfire rings with grills.

Zip's Place Cabin is located 48 miles east of Hungry Horse, in northwestern
Montana. It provides a beautiful setting on property that was originally a
homestead granted in 1937. In 1945 the land was bought by the Kimmet family of
Cut Bank, and in 1954 the family constructed the cabin that resides there
today. Visitors enjoy a variety of recreational activities, including hiking,
biking, winter sports and viewing wildlife.  
  
The cabin can be accessed by vehicle during the summer months. The summer
parking area is approximately 120 ft. from the cabin, some visitors find a
cart to be helpful to transport gear to the cabin. During the winter months
when snow is present or when the road conditions are impassable, guests must
park at the designated winter parking area and hike, snowmobile, ski, or
snowshoe approximately one mile to the cabin. Guests are responsible for their
own travel arrangements and safety, and must bring several of their own

current lookout has been around since its construction in 1959.

facility. Guests are responsible for their own travel arrangements and safety,
and must bring several of their own amenities. Will sleep up to 4 people. Dogs
are NOT ALLOWED in the Lookout.

Along with the spectacular scenery, the immediate area offers visitors an
unlimited array of outdoor activities ranging from fishing and swimming at the
nearby Swan Lake, to watching migratory waterfowl at the wildlife viewing
area.  
  
Hunting is also popular not far from the lookout. Shooting within 150 yards of
the Lookout or from/across roads is prohibited.  
  
A variety of hiking and mountain biking trails can be found in the area.

Challenge Cabin is available during the winter and is located about 60 miles
southeast of Hungry Horse, in northwestern Montana. It provides a primitive
escape for visitors who enjoy winter recreation. The cozy shelter awards
visitors with beautiful mountain views, peaceful sounds of nature and virgin,
white snow for great photography and snow play.  
  
Access to the cabin involves an 8-mile trek by hiking, skiing, snowshoeing or
snowmobiling. Guests are responsible for their own travel arrangements and
safety, and must bring several of their own amenities.

## Recreation

Cross country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing are popular activities
enjoyed by visitors to the area. Reaching the cabin on the 8-mile access trail
is part of the snow sport fun. Visitors might also catch a glimpse of any
number of wildlife that lives in the area.

## Facilities

The cabin can sleep up to five guests. It is equipped with a propane cook
stove, lights, and a wood stove. Furnishings include a table and chairs, a
bunk bed and a small loft where additional people can roll out sleeping bags.
Basic cooking pots and utensils are supplied, but guests are encouraged to
bring their own. Pets are allowed, but cleaning up after them is required.  
  
A vault toilet is provided outside the cabin. Firewood is included for heating
in the wood stove.  
  
Guests should bring their own water for drinking, cooking and cleaning
purposes, as well as food, bedding, flashlights, garbage bags and basic camp
