## Overview

Challenge Cabin is available during the winter and is located about 60 miles
southeast of Hungry Horse, in northwestern Montana. It provides a primitive
escape for visitors who enjoy winter recreation. The cozy shelter awards
visitors with beautiful mountain views, peaceful sounds of nature and virgin,
white snow for great photography and snow play.  
  
Access to the cabin involves an 8-mile trek by hiking, skiing, snowshoeing or
snowmobiling. Guests are responsible for their own travel arrangements and
safety, and must bring several of their own amenities.

enjoyed by visitors to the area. Reaching the cabin on the 8-mile access trail
is part of the snow sport fun. Visitors might also catch a glimpse of any

are about an hour-and-a-half drive, in addition to the trek from the cabin.

Reservations can be made one to 180 days in advance. Rental fee is $50 per
night. There is a maximum stay of three consecutive nights with a total of

## Overview

Zip's Place Cabin is located 48 miles east of Hungry Horse, in northwestern
Montana. It provides a beautiful setting on property that was originally a
homestead granted in 1937. In 1945 the land was bought by the Kimmet family of
Cut Bank, and in 1954 the family constructed the cabin that resides there
today. Visitors enjoy a variety of recreational activities, including hiking,
biking, winter sports and viewing wildlife.  
  
The cabin can be accessed by vehicle during the summer months. The summer
parking area is approximately 120 ft. from the cabin, some visitors find a
cart to be helpful to transport gear to the cabin. During the winter months
when snow is present or when the road conditions are impassable, guests must
park at the designated winter parking area and hike, snowmobile, ski, or
snowshoe approximately one mile to the cabin. Guests are responsible for their
own travel arrangements and safety, and must bring several of their own
amenities.

country skiing, snowmobiling and snow shoeing entertain visitors in winter.
Elk and moose are among the native animals that may be spotted in the area.

stand of lodgepole pine and Douglas fir trees. A small stream runs behind the

286,700-acre Great Bear Wilderness.

and six miles west of Marias Pass, a high mountain pass located in Glacier
National Park. This location has 13 campsites, 7 which are reservable and 6
that are walk-up sites.

The stay limit is 16 consecutive nights.

The campground is adjacent to US Highway 2 in a heavily wooded conifer forest.
Traveling to the campground on Highway 2 offers stunning scenery and
opportunities for wildlife viewing. Devil Creek Trail #167 provides access to
Spotted Bear Wilderness.

Forest. Home to lynx, grizzly bear, and bull trout and with numerous lakes

visitors. The campground lies between East Glacier and West Glacier.

of West Glacier, the west entrance to Glacier National Park.

Cancellations made within the 4 Day Reservation Window will be "considered"
for a refund, by the concessionaire, of Camping fees only and will
automatically forfeit the first nights fee. Day of Arrival cancellations must
be turned in by calling Cheryl at 406-752-PWAI (7924) or 406-404-4164 to get
the information to the campground Host. All Considerations will be made after
your original reservation dates have passed.

Although you are allowed 2 motorized vehicles per site, the first vehicle is
included in the site fee, the second vehicle is charged $5.00 upon arrival at
