Ticks were crawling all over us, which is not y’all’s fault, and bad weather was coming which also was not y’all’s fault, the reason I am rating it a 3, we had to leave early and did not get to spend the night due to weather.

Overall, the campground was nice and clean at our campsite. Picnic table had a real bad bow to it. The swim area could stand cleaning up, but overall not bad. We have already reserved another spot for next month watered each campsite would be helpful.

Great place, we have camped here before. Like all camp sites there was cigarettes butts on the ground (about 10 foot from firepit) and some small pieces of trash. I don’t understand why people can’t pickup after their self. Overall a great place. Main roads into Shouse ford are terrible with potholes.

Camp ground is in disrepair. Restrooms are in poor condition. I have been going to this campground for over 65 years & it goes downhill every year. Many campsites are dangerous!!

All the spots that we wanted were reserved so we chose one of the ones that were left. The campgrounds were empty and all the prime spots stayed empty the whole time. I would say other than that it was a lovely weekend.

We love camping here! The rangers are very friendly and nice. There are only 2 suggestions that could improve the camping experience is 1) having a fish cleaning station and to have water hookups at each campsite. But it is a beautiful place and we camp there at least three times a year! I would recommend it to people.

The three nights we were there we didn’t have anyone come by to clean facilities or dump Trash cans. The area has absolutely no phone service and overall was no the best time I’ve spent camping. 👎👎

We reserved three campsites for an end of summer camping trip. We had a wonderful time! The grounds and bathrooms/showers were clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend! When I reserved our sites a month prior to our stay, the campground was showing just a few (10 or so) sites available. When we arrived at the campground, and throughout our stay, there were only 8 to 10 OCCUPIED campsites out of 80, including our three.

The campground grounds do not appear to be maintained very well. There were several dead pine limbs that fell out of trees close to our camp, if they were to land on a camper trailer, tent, or vehicle would do some damage or seriously hurt someone. Dead tree limbs are on the ground throughout the campground, and lots of poison ivy. From what we were told by a couple of other folks that have stayed at Shouse Ford over the years not as many people camp here like they use to. The facilities are maintained, but the grounds are lacking.

We had a great time camping at Shouse Ford. However, there have not been any upgrades or preventative maintenance preformed to the campground in years and it shows... Please upgrade the campground... a lot of the campsites have erosion issues around the camper pads, some of the tent pads are in disrepair, etc... Also, adding water/sewer to the campsites would be a great help to campers!

Site would be okay if it is not raining. There are 3 sites that drain into this one and becomes a swamp. Tent pad stayed dry but eating area and activity area was ankle deep of water. Other than that no issues.

I have been coming to this campground since I was 14. I love this campground BUT it has fallen into disrepair from neglect. Several of the concrete tables are cracked and broken. My table on site 53 was so cracked that the rebar was showing. The grounds themselves need attention..mowing, weed eating around the bank, a controlled burn during off season to get rid of years of pine straw on the ground. Also let’s address the shower situation. The showers don’t drain properly. They need ventilation especially in the summer. There used to be fans in the ceiling but they were replaced by skylights. The showers are suffocatingly hot in the summer. Also we used to see the rangers and camp host ensuring rules were followed and even just talking to campers but not anymore.

I still cannot believe they still have not put sand down at the swimming area. I spent all my childhood summers on Lake DeGray, really starting to rethink where I want my grandbabies summer memories to be. The swimming area has just went way down at Shouse Ford / Point Cedar. It has been over 15 years since they have put down sand. It is just sad. Little ones can't even build sand castles. Just rocks and sticks and lose dogs running around.

the 30 amp service kept tripping and turning off power in rv. I had a 50 amp adapter, swithced to the 50 amp breaker and no more problems. And no, the problem in not in the rv. I have a 30 amp service at home specificially for my rv and never has had that breaker to trip.

The only thing they could improve is to fix the tent pads. Our children and grandchildren would come more if the pads were not so bad. I have contacted Bruce Westerman our Congressman to see what can be done. We glamp now but when we were younger tents were all we could afford. I think more young people could camp if the pads were redone. Really a cheap fix!!!!! I plan to work with Bruce to try to get this accomplished.
