We like the spot being accessible to the swimming area and being able to park your boat and being close to it. The black top where you park your camper is broken and narrowed and has a 3 to 4 inch drop by where we park our door and we almost fell several times other than that we love spot #28

Easy access to the lake; limited cell service; while trash and bathrooms were maintained well there was lack of upkeep to the public areas with tall grass up close to the beach area and around campsites.

Love this campground. Very family friendly safe environment. The camp host is friendly and informative. They could improve the cell coverage in the back for emergency situations. Bathrooms are well kept and clean.

Camp host goes above and beyond his duties to help you. Bathrooms are by far the ckeanest in every COE site we visited in last two years. Trails are great and its close to Hot Springs. Will stay here again sites 14 15 and 29 were our favorites.very quite park.

Our family stayed at sites 16 and 18. I told my little grands that mimi had picked GOAT of all campsites! The playground was right behind us and the bathhouse right across the road. The weather was fantastic. We had a great time and made some wonderful memories. If I had any complaints it would be the showers. The drainage is slow and the water did not stay hot for long at all. Maybe consider investing in updating the bathrooms/showers.

The campground was good but the restrooms were disgusting. The museums were so thick in both the restrooms and showers that we could not breathe without swallowing them. I am allergic to their bites so we could not use those facilities. The grounds were also full of them. But it was beautiful. We loved the thick forest and the view of the lake through the trees.

Site number 6 is a pass thru site, but it is horrible. Ther is a steep drop off right outside the door. To get to the picnic table area, you have to walk down this steep hill that is gravel and dirt, or mud if it is raining. You can easily slip and fall traversing this area. Also the water and electric hookup is on the opposite side of you trailer hookups down steep hill. You better have a long hose and extensions for your electrical cable. There are many other spots which are much better. The pics of this spot are deceiving. Good item about spot 6, it's near the bathroom. The bathrooms are clean and it is a nice campground overall. I would stay here again, just in a better spot.

Quiet, peaceful, and the Edgewood hist will absolutely help you with anything if you need it. Got dropped off right before a storm and my ride left me before helping with putting the tent up in dark. I believe his name is rich? Or mitch? Anyways, seen i needed help, we got it up just in time before storms. If not for him I would have slept under picnic table with all my stuff. Good man yall have there overseeing things.

When pulling a large RV watch out for other RVs on how they park in the sites because some of them over park into the road and you could hit them when you’re turning

Site #32 is a beautiful place.. BUT.. BEWARE..there is a big snake living in the downed tree stump that is directly in the middle of the campsite, I called the corps of engineers and was told that a park ranger would be out to take care of it. We were there for 4 days and he did not come out. I understand that snakes are out there, but, we have young kids and a dog, so we were constantly on edge, as it was SO close to our fire pit area and in order to walk down to enjoy the water we would have to walk around it. The snake was very active and sunbathing in front of its "home" a lot. There was also a bunch of maggots in the cracks of the picnic table that kept coming out even after thoroughly cleaning it multiple times making it impossible to use for our entire stay. I would suggest upgrading to either concrete picnic tables or the ones with holes throughout as well as removing the tree stump. If it weren't for those 2 things we would definitely be back!

Site we selected was supposed to accommodate a 37+ motorhome with a. tow behind pull through. Not so much. Plus, the utilities were on the wrong side of the rig. We switched to a handicapped site and the slope from rear to front was a 1 to 4 slope on an old broken concrete slab. This site’s designation for handicapped is erroneous. There were other newly paved level sites NOT designated as handicapped that had only a tent camper on it so their car had a very nice parking spot. Until rec.gov campgrounds get more transparent with their sites limitations and campground layout, it will always be a guessing game.

We had an excellent stay and met with many of the rangers when we visited the various visitor centers. One ranger was absolutely amazing, John Robinson at the Iron Mountain Visitors Center. He took his time with our grandchildren to explain things around the facility as well as visit with us and answer many of our questions.

We enjoyed our stay. Campground nice and peaceful, sites not jammed up on top of each other. Loved our site that was close to the edge of the lake; we were able to walk our kayaks down to the edge and get right in. Beautiful view of the lake from our camper/campsite. No sewer hookup at the site so we utilized the shower facilities. Showers were great with awesome water pressure. 30 minute easy ride to downtown Hot Springs. We will definitely stay here again!

There is a gate house, but no attendant, but no where does it say on the door that there is no attendant. We sat in the driveway in front of the little gate house for about 20 minutes because the sign on the door said "be back about 12". Finally another camper came by and said no one was there and just find our spot and set up. Very odd as far as I was concerned. Couldn't they have put a sign on the door that said that? Also, the pads and the bath house really need some updating, but this is a gorgeous park.

The location our site was wonderful fairly level. Easy access to the lake from the our site to launch the kayaks. Bathrooms need updating. Upon arriving at our site the grill was loaded with burnt charcoal, the fire ring was loaded with trash and concrete pad around the picnic table was covered with sunflower seed shells. I guess they don’t clean up after campers leave.

Required maintenance all over, most sights are in need of attention, the road is terrible holes, we have camped here for years but this time was not good for all the maintenance problems. We have even had to get dirt and gravel to put in the door side just to get off the steps so as not to fall off the pad or break an ankle.

This USACE campground isn’t as well cared for as it used to be. Rangers very rarely drive thru to police the area. Not sure why a campground host was camping adjacent to the campground office because it was hardly ever open. However since all our camp neighbors were nice and quiet we really enjoyed our stay.
