Ohl Olsen Group Campground

Overview

Ohl Olsen Group Campground provides 2 sites for group camping in the Chappie-Shasta OHV Area. Access to the staging area and OHV trails is right next to the campground! This site is ideal for RVs, trailers, and toy hauler type camping. Potable water and trash service is available, but no electric, water, or sewer hookups. Campfire rings and picnic tables are in each site. The area is a large flat gravel lot with limited natural shade.

Recreation

Chappie-Shasta OHV Area provides 200+ miles of trails for motorcycles, UTVs, ATVs, Jeeps, and more! There are trails for all skill levels - from front country loops to longer, more remote adventures. This area is primarily used by OHVers - but access to the Sacramento River Rail Trail (non-motorized) and Shasta Lake are great too.

Facilities

Two group campsites are available. Each has a vault toilet, potable water, picnic tables, trash can, and campfire ring. The sites are large gravel lots, great for RVs, trailers, etc. The two campsites can function seperately, but the sites are immediately adjacent to each other. If both are reserved for your group, they can function jointly. No electric, water, or sewer hooks are available.

Natural Features

The campground is nearby to Shasta Lake and Keswick Reservoir. The surrounding hillsides are coated in trees and shrubs offering a more secluded feel.

Great campground with large flat areas and easy pull through parking areas. Clean facilities and easy access to hundreds of miles of riding - forest roads, single and double track trails, beautiful views and temperate weather in October and November. Plenty to explore with your off-highway vehicle, side by side, ATV, motorcycle or even bicycle!
