The Trace Branch Campground, located on Buckhorn Lake, is a great launchpad
for outdoor activities in Kentucky's lush Cumberland Plateau. The facility
features plenty of shade and open grassy areas for spreading out and enjoying
the landscape of the Appalachian Mountain Range.

fishing pressure and boat traffic, producing some of the best muskie fishing

Reservations will be on the bulletin boards in from of each shelter with the
last name of the party on the calendar day reserved

-This is a day use area that once a reservation is placed is reserved for the whole day.

-Play grounds, fishing areas, restrooms, and grills are all located beside or near by each site.

-Alcohol use at these sites is prohibited.

Buckhorn Campground on Buckhorn Lake, provides the perfect outdoor escape in

The campground is packed with activities to entertain all ages, including
monthly interpretive programs offered during summer months and convenient
access for boating and fishing on Buckhorn Lake.

hunting and just plain relaxing. The campground provides access to a nature
trail and fishing areas as well.

Buckhorn Campground was also recently recongnized as the location for the
largest River Birch Tree in the country by The National Register of Big Trees,
the tree measures 205 inches around, 117 feet high and an 85 foot crown on
top, making this tree surely a sight to see.
