Kelly Flats is a first-come, first-served campground located adjacent to
Colorado Highway 14 and the Cache La Poudre River. There are 29 sites
available including four walk-in tent sites. This is primarily an open conifer
forest setting but there is a variety of vegetation found along the riparian
zone of the river. Each site contains a tent pad, fire grate and picnic table.
The primary activities in this area include stream fishing and enjoying the
ambience of the river as it flows through the campground.

## Overview

The Buckhorn Ranger Station has three cabins, an office and large garage. In
August 2022, the Buckhorn Ranger Station was listed in the National Register
of Historic Places. The Buckhorn Ranger Cabin was built in 1933 by the
Civilian Conservation Corps.

Guests need to bring bedding, including pillows, blankets and/or sleeping
bags, as well as towels, toiletry items, and food and beverages. Cooking pots,
table and chairs, dishes, and utensils are provided.

The Ranger Cabin is a fully-furnished two-bedroom cabin with indoor plumbing
and electricity. It can accommodate up to six people and has two single beds
in one bedroom, a queen bed in the second bedroom and a futon in the living
room. The cabin is also equipped with a woodstove. The kitchen has running
water, a stove and oven, refrigerator, microwave, and toaster.

The Assistant Ranger Cabin is a one-bedroom cabin with two twin beds and a
futon in the living room. The cabin has a propane heater, a full kitchen with
gas stove and refrigerator, and a bathroom with shower.

The Bunkhouse is an efficiency cabin that is planned to be wheelchair
accessible. It has a kitchen with eating area and a small living room/bedroom
area.

## Recreation

Danner Hill Trail (AKA Donner Pass Trail) is located just north of the site
and heads to the south towards Lookout Mountain. Forest Road 100 (West White
Pine Road) heads north of the site to the original location of the West White
Pine Fire Lookout that was relocated by helicopter to Fort Collins, Colorado.

The area is popular for biking, hiking, OHV and motorized riding, hunting, and
scenic drives.

Beyond the specific cabin details above, the overall facility has a two fire
pits, a horseshoe court and charcoal grills.

The Buckhorn Ranger Station is located on a large broad open terrace in the
narrow Buckhorn Canyon just off Box Elder Creek, a tributary of Buckhorn
Creek. West and East White Pine Mountains are located to the north, Lookout
Mountain and Crystal Mountain are located to the south and Pingree Pass and
the Mummy Range are located to the west.

The Golden Eagle Disc Golf Course is locate just across Larimer County Road
44H.

The group site accommodates up to 60 people, several cars and up to nine RVs
with hookups. Ten 14-by-17 tent pads are scattered throughout the site. A
picnic shelter is provided. Two central cooking and picnic areas are on-site,
each with four picnic tables, a charcoal grill and campfire ring.  
  
The two equestrian sites have four horse stalls each. Picnic tables, campfire
rings and tent pads are provided. Each site can accommodate a horse trailer.

JACKS GULCH

Jacks Gulch

## Overview

West Lake Campground is located 48 miles northwest of Fort Collins, in north
central Colorado, near the village of Red Feather Lakes. Visitors enjoy the
area for its canoeing, fishing and trail opportunities.

## Recreation

Canoeing and fishing are popular activities on the 25-acre, no-wake West Lake.
Anglers cast for rainbow and lake trout. Several additional lakes are in the
vicinity.  
  
Many hiking, biking and horseback riding trails are in the surrounding area,
including the 1.5-mile West Lake Trail and 4-mile Mount Margaret Trail.
Several off-road vehicle trails are located within five miles of the
campground.  
  
Other popular activities include viewing wildlife and visiting nearby
Redfeather Visitor Center.

The campground offers 31 accessible single- and double-family campsites, with
electric hookups. Five additional sites are designated for tent camping only
and do not have hookups. Each site contains a tent pad, picnic table and

## Overview

The Redfeather Ranger Station has two cabins, and an office with a visitor's
center. The Ranger Cabin and the Assistant Ranger Cabin are available for
lodging. Guests must provide linens, bedding, pillows, towels and toiletries.
The Ranger Station is situated in a ponderosa pine forest at an elevation of
8,200 feet. Afternoon thunderstorms can be expected during spring and summer
months.

This site is located off the east side of Dowdy Lake Road in Red Feather
Lakes, Colorado. The Forest Service access road into the station is
approximately 1/4 mile north of the intersection of Dowdy Lake Road and West
County Road 74E/Red Feather Lakes Road. The Red Feather Lakes community,
located about 46 miles northwest of Fort Collins, is known for its
recreational opportunities and remote scenic beauty.

**The Ranger Cabin** is a spacious (1,660 square foot), three-room log cabin,
that can accommodate six to eight people. It has one queen bed and four twin
beds. The fully-equipped kitchen includes two stoves, two refrigerators,
microwave, toaster, coffee pot, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. It was built
by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937 from adapted architectural plans
from the Sunlight Ranger Cabin near Cody, Wyoming.

**The Assistant Ranger Cabin** is a two-bedroom log cabin that can accommodate
four to six people. There is a small fully-equipped kitchen with a small
table. There is a log bed frame with a queen size bed in one bedroom and two
twin beds in the second bedroom.
