Outlet Park Shelters

Overview

The shelters at Outlet Park are below the dam and offer shade and a good area to hold large events. The Ballfield Shelter is located on the west side of road. This shelter has a nearby ballfield, with a playground and vault toilets nearby. The Multipurpose Shelter is on the east side of the road. This shelter has a nearby tennis court, a playground, horseshoe pit and waterborne toilets.

Recreation

Pomme de Terre Lake is popular among water skiers and anglers. A number of coves on the lake provide seclusion for ideal fishing conditions, regardless of power boating on other areas of the lake.

Facilities

  • Ballfield Shelter has standing grills, 20-amp electrical outlets, and five picnic tables which can accommodate 30 people.

  • Multipurpose Shelter includes standing grills, 20-amp electrical outlets, and six picnic tables which can accommodate 36 people.

  • Parking is found in parking lots east and west of the park attendant booth.

Natural Features

Pomme de Terre Lake is located in the rugged, tree-topped hills of the west-central Missouri Ozarks. The lake is long and winding with 7,790 surface acres and 113 miles of shoreline.

Largemouth bass, crappie and white bass are common catches. Muskie is a popular and rare catch that draws many anglers to the region.

Directions

From Springfield, MO, take US Highway 65 North to Preston, MO, then Highway 54 west to Hermitage. Go south from Hermitage on Highway 254/64 for approximately 4 miles to Carson Corner.
