Administration (Pomme de Terre)

Overview

The Administration Shelter is located right by the Pomme de Terre Project Office. This shelter overlooks the lake and the historic dam. The nearby Project Office, which has public restrooms and historical information on the lake, is open from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.    

Recreation

Pomme de Terre Lake is popular among water skiers and anglers. A number of coves on the lake provide seclusion for ideal fishing conditions, regardless of power boating on other areas of the lake.

Facilities

  •  This shelter has grills, two waterborne restrooms open April through September, a nearby playground, and 10 picnic tables which can accommodate 60 people.

  • The nearby Project Office is open from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Monday through Friday

  • Parking is just north of the shelter and at the Project Office

Natural Features

Pomme de Terre Lake is located in the rugged, tree-topped hills of the west-central Missouri Ozarks. The lake is long and winding with 7,790 surface acres and 113 miles of shoreline. Largemouth bass, crappie and white bass are common catches. Muskie is a popular and rare catch that draws many anglers to the region.

Directions

From Springfield, MO, take US 65 north past Louisburg, MO, to NN Highway. Follow NN Highway west and continue on Highway 64. Turn west on Highway 254. Turn north on County Road 218. The entrance to the administration area will be to the right.
