## Overview

McNary Beach is located on Lake Wallula just upstream of McNary Lock and Dam
in eastern Oregon on the Mid-Columbia River.

## Recreation

The lake provides great boating opportunities with the Oregon Boat Ramp just
downstream and a nice designated swimming area. The trailhead for the Lewis
and Clark trail is also located at the east end of the park.

## Facilities

McNary Beach offers one day-use group picnic shelter with six tables and two
fire grills.

## Natural Features

The park is situated along the bank of the Columbia River. Day users enjoy the
relaxing shade of the mature trees throughout the park.

The park provides two softball fields and a playset for the children to enjoy
the park. There is also close access to the McNary Dam Wildlife Areas and its
trail system.

West Park offers two reservable picnic shelters. West Park #1 Steelhead
Shelter has eight picnic tables and two fire grills and West Park #2 Coho
Shelter has 10 picnic tables and two fire grills. Both shelters also offer
electricity.

where the canyon narrows. Wallula Gap is the site of colorful Indian lore and
is a place where interesting natural phenomena occurred during an ancient
catastrophic event known as the Great Missoula Floods.
